Breast Liposculpture

Breasts could be modeled based on the fat tissue which is pretty abundant at this level in case of bid-bodied patients. Some specialists make the mammary reduction through liposuction of the gland fat and of the one located in the region around.

This practice is successful only in the selected cases where the breast prevalently consists of fat tissue. Liposculpture is also addressed to thinner patients, where in case of the breast increase surgery with silicone implants the margins of the implants could be felt. By inserting fat at these levels this disadvantage is solved. Lately efforts have been done worldwide to establish a practice for breast increase through autologous fat transfer (microlipofilling). Big quantities of fat were sampled from other areas and were inserted with the help of small cannula at the bilateral level of the breasts. The surgery is extremely meticulous, it takes about 6 to 7 hours and the results are inconstant. Usually the procedure must be repeated to obtain satisfactory results.

There are not many fans of this procedure due to it is very expensive and the results don't meet their expectations. Another indication of mammary liposculpture is given by breast remodeling within the reconstruction following cancer abscission. The autologous transfer practice could be very useful to obtain increased consistency tissue in order to cover as natural as possible the mammary implant.

Frequently asked questions

Which are the recommendations of liposculpture?

These types of procedures apply to patients who show fat tissue in excess which could be sampled, transferred and grafted at the breast level. Mammary reduction through liposuction is recommended in case a moderate reduction of the mammary gland is preferred, where there is a proper skin laxity at this level, when permanent scars involved by a classical breast raising surgery (mastopexy) are not accepted.

Which are the contraindications of the practice?

The contraindications of the practice include serious blood and dermatological diseases, consumptive diseases, skin laxity exaggeratedly high, low patient compliance.

Which are the risks?

Liposuction of the mammary gland, although is seems a little barbarian, is still missing any risk due to there is no proof that lactiferous ducts are destroyed. During this surgery the fat between lactiferous ducts is sucked, these remaining intact. The risks are common to any surgery: exaggerated bleeding, hematoma, infection, temporary lack of sensitivity in certain surged areas.

How long does the surgery take?

The surgery could take from few minutes to 6 to 7 hours based on the work volume and on the chosen practice. Mammary contour reshaping through microlipofilling is a procedure that could take around 15 minutes.

After how long could I repeat the liposculpture?

There is always in every location and with every patient a higher or lower degree of absorption of the transplanted fat; most of the times the patients are informed that a hyper correction (meaning it will be inserted more than it should be) of the concerned areas will be performed, just for approximately 30 to 50% fat will absorb. Even in these cases another procedure is still needed being possible after 5 to 6 months, or sometimes, even sooner.
