This procedure is primarily addressed to persons who have been obese and succeeded to loose tenths of kilograms. In these conditions the integument remaining in excess “hangs disgraceful” everywhere, at the arm level, breasts, abdomen, clunes, hips, knees.

The surgery could be done within a single surgery but it is better to be executed within 2 to 3 stages to allow a better recovery of the patient. Which are the contraindications of the procedure?
Considering that this surgery takes long general anesthesia is required. Serious cardiopulmonary diseases which carry anesthetic risk are a contraindication to this surgery. Serious dermatological, contagious diseases, cachexia and sugar diabetes are also contraindications to make such surgery.
The patient must be informed about the type of post surgical residual scars, must understand it will carry them for the rest of his/her life and must agree with this. It should also be aware of the fact that sometimes it is required to correct them, which is possible after 6 months since the surgery.
Which are the risks of the surgery?
Right after the surgery there are infection risks, wound dehiscence, massive bleeding, significant inflammation risks, etc. Remote risks include pathological scarring and irregularities of the surged areas.
Which is the optimum interval between surgeries?
The surgeries could be executed through many stages, with few months distance between them. For example, hip correction could be associated with arm or breast correction, for the two areas evolves independently.

What does the recovery period consist of?

Which is the medication after the surgery?
A period of 24 hours of in-hospital is needed after the surgery. Next day, upon dismissal, you'll receive a prescription of antibiotic, anti inflammatory and pain control treatment which you'll take for 5 to 7 days. It is recommended to wear the elastic garment prescribed to you. You can resume daily activities gradually.
You could also initiate massage of the surged areas from the second week, with gradually increasing intensity. The
endermologic massage is of great utility.
